"Independent travel often requires stepping outside your comfort zone and being open to new experiences."

A Customized Experience

THE PROGRAM
The goal of the fellowships is to help students gain valuable life experience through travel. Through this opportunity, students broaden their perspectives, pursue their interests in a hands-on way, and further develop their personal values.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A CURVEY FELLOWSHIP?
All Curvey Scholars are eligible to participate in a Fellowship post junior year at Brewster and/or through their sophomore year of their college experience.

WHAT DOES A CURVEY FELLOWSHIP OFFER?
Curvey Scholars can design independent travel experiences to any location of their choosing within the United States and Canada. There are no set parameters in terms of focus or theme for the Curvey Fellowships; students will be encouraged to plan travel experiences that are of genuine interest to them. Upon returning to Brewster as seniors or later as alumni, students are encouraged to reflect with the community on what they learned and accomplished from their experiences.

HOW DO I PURSUE A FELLOWSHIP?
Students must complete an essay for consideration with an accompanying budget plan. The James C. Curvey Endowed Program Director will work with each student to guide their efforts and final approval.
